Prolympia - Sweden's Leading Sports School

Prolympia is Sweden's leading sports school at the primary school level. The school is independent and focuses on knowledge, safety, sports, and health – we are now looking for a new colleague who can contribute to our operations. The school is centrally located with proximity to sports arenas, Vätterstranden, and the Rosenlund area. Here, 500 students from grades 2-9 attend, and we have about 70 employees.

About the position

As a counselor at Prolympia Jönköping, you will play a central role in student health and work to strengthen students' well-being and safety.

You will have overall responsibility for issues concerning children's well-being and social development, in close collaboration with colleagues, students, guardians, and external actors. You will be part of the school's student health team together with the principal, special educator, school nurse, and other key functions. You will also be part of a network with counselors at our other schools, within the framework of which supervision and opportunities for joint professional development and experience exchange are provided.

In the role of counselor, you will:

• Drive and coordinate safety work and social work (Grades 2-9) in collaboration with school management.
• Provide psychosocial expertise as support in the educational work and in the overall planning of student health work based on our core values.
• Contribute the psychosocial perspective to the school's systematic quality work by identifying, analyzing, and participating in promoting and preventive work in various learning environments.
• Work with attendance-promoting measures and investigate and follow up on students' school absenteeism.
• Investigate, assess, and conduct conversations based on individual students' needs.
• Guide, challenge, and support the school's other staff based on needs related to their assignments.
• Participate in the work with the school's structure and organization related to values and equal treatment.

Qualifications and characteristics

We are looking for someone with a degree in social work or equivalent, as well as experience working with young people. You are a good communicator in both speech and writing and have the ability to create trust and safety in your relationships. Furthermore, you are structured, responsible, and have a strong commitment to students' well-being.

For employment, a criminal record extract concerning work in schools and preschools is required.
